Beschrijving
This cheerful and vibrant print of parrots in a lush jungle has been carefully surface printed to recreate the look and feel of the original woodblock printed wallpaper from the V&A archive. It is available in a blush pink colourway with abundant fruit.
The design, called Macaw and created by Walter Crane for Jeffrey & Co., was originally intended as an exhibit for the 1908 Franco-British Exhibition in London, where it was awarded a Grand Prix. Walter Crane, widely regarded as the most influential children's book illustrator of his generation, was also known for his striking designs for wallpaper. As an apprentice woodcarver, Crane closely studied the work of contemporaries such as painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti and illustrator Sir John Tenniel. His drawings show a fine eye for stylized, naturalistic detail. Strongly influenced by William Morris, Crane was a committed socialist who believed strongly in the transformative power of involving people of all social classes in art in everyday life.

Application

For most wallpaper projects, we recommend Arte Clear Pro wallpaper adhesive. This glue is high quality and suitable for various types of wallpaper. Always check the specifications of your wallpaper to see if this adhesive is suitable. Unsure? Contact us, and we will be happy to advise you.
For the best result, we recommend making the wall as smooth as possible before applying the wallpaper. If the texture is too rough, it may remain visible through the wallpaper.
To remove wallpaper, you can use a wallpaper steamer or wet the wallpaper with water and a splash of dish soap. Let it soak for a while, then carefully scrape the wallpaper off the wall. Non-woven wallpaper is often easier to remove when dry.
This depends on the type of wallpaper. Many types of wallpaper can be lightly wiped off with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Always check the product information for specific maintenance advice.
