For over twenty years, Denise and René have lived with their two daughters in their terraced house in Hoofddorp. Together, they form an active family that enjoys hustle and bustle, coziness, and a lively home. Yet, their interior hardly reflects that.
René loves rugged steel, rough wood, and concrete, while Denise dreams of soft tones, natural materials, and warmth. Their different tastes and René’s critical eye have caused changes to be repeatedly postponed. Meanwhile, the twenty-year-old kitchen is falling apart — it’s high time for action.

Bold romance
René and Denise's home is undergoing a complete transformation. Stylist Fietje brings calm and balance to the interior with a new color scheme and recurring materials.
She combines earthy, pink tones with tough and robust materials, describing the style as ‘Bold Romance.’ The color palette consists of the calm base color White Truffle no. 644, complemented by accents in the brown-pink Tout no. 530 and the soft Jewel no. 66.
BEIGE BASE
Fietje chooses the popular LAB color White Truffle no. 644 as a base. This light beige shade with a subtle brown-gray undertone forms an ideal foundation for any color palette. Thanks to its versatility, White Truffle no. 644 can be effortlessly combined with countless other colors.
THAT'S ALL
As an accent color in this palette, Fietje chooses a wall in the brown-pink Tout no. 530. This earthy shade looks stunning in a variety of interior styles – from chic to bohemian and from design to retro. In the home of René and Denise, Tout forms a warm and natural match with the base color White Truffle no. 644.
KITCHEN WITH CHARACTER
After twenty years, René and Denise's kitchen showed visible signs of wear. Yet, this space remained the beating heart of their home. Stylist Fietje decided to completely renovate the kitchen, keeping the residents' wishes in mind. She chose sturdy materials and warm colors that seamlessly match the selected color palette.

The final color in this home's palette is Jewel no. 66 – a soft, grayish sand tone with a subtle pink glow. This shade forms the perfect base for a warm and balanced color palette. Jewel no. 66 is an elegant shade that modestly stays in the background, creating calm and harmony in the interior.

In the end, the transformation doesn’t turn out exactly as stylist Fietje had planned. Some elements are well received, but the color palette doesn’t fully match the wishes of René and Denise.
