SEASON 23 EPISODE 11

QUIET FAMILY HOME WITH A TOUCH OF PINK

When Sara and Tom stepped into the detached 1970s house in Den Dungen, they immediately fell in love with the space and its potential. The many separate rooms, outdated elements, and diverse tastes made it challenging to create a cohesive whole.

Sara loves color, individuality, and a mix of romantic, Scandinavian, and bohemian styles, while Tom prefers practical, leather, wood, and comfort.

Curious how the stylist managed to connect their tastes and which color palette was chosen? You can read about it here.

CALMNESS IN COLOR

The detached house has a playful layout and enormous potential but calls for more calm and rhythm. In the makeover, the rooms are therefore given a clear function and their own color choice, finally creating cohesion.

Stylist Marlies works with a calm base of Fluffy Cheetah no. 255 and Nude Cashmere no. 312, complemented by subtle accents in Arabic Desert no. 710, Sahara Vibe no. 18, and Electric Pink no. 604 that are reflected in the furniture. She describes this atmosphere as ‘calm in color’.

SOFT BASE

The living room and kitchen receive a neutral color that appeals to both tastes: Fluffy Cheetah no. 255. A warm beige shade that creates atmosphere but also offers the calm that Tom longs for. Moreover, this color combines well with the accent colors found in the furniture and accessories.

SUBTLE PINK

The conservatory is transformed into a cozy dining room with a subtle touch of pink. The base color chosen is Nude Cashmere no. 312: a soft neutral with a pink undertone that perfectly matches Sara’s wishes. The shade remains calm and neutral, so it doesn’t dominate but rather forms a harmonious foundation.

CUSTOM MADE

The furniture also gets a makeover in LAB colors. For example, the custom-made dining bench is painted in Arabic Desert no. 710, a warm sandstone shade that beautifully matches ton-sur-ton with Nude Cashmere no. 312 on the walls and ceiling.

POWERFUL ACCENTS

Because the base of the home is kept calm and peaceful, the accent colors mainly appear in furniture and accessories. For example, the children's chairs are painted in the vibrant pink of Electric Pink no. 604 and our color of the year Sahara Vibe no. 18. This subtly adds playfulness and liveliness to the interior without it becoming too dominant.
