SEASON 23 EPISODE 12
1930s House in Warm Earth Tones
Five years ago, Erlin and Johan bought a cozy 1930s house in Arnhem. However, due to the many belongings, different interior styles, and an illogical layout, the house still doesn’t feel like a cohesive whole.
Erlin dreams of calm, simplicity, and light tones, while Johan prefers color, warmth, and surprising details.
Curious how stylist Frans manages to modernize this home without losing its character? And how he brings together the layout and their contrasting tastes? You can read about it here.

CALM & COLORFUL
Erlin and Johan's home lacks cohesion in color and layout. It's high time for a living solution that brings unity and harmony. Stylist Frans looks for overlap between both mood boards — and it turns out to be surprisingly clear. The result? An atmosphere he aptly describes as 'Calm & Colourful'.
Soft earth tones form the base, with Fluffy Cheetah no. 255 and Oriental Ecru no. 434. For extra depth and warmth, Frans adds an accent in Warm Tan no. 91.

SOFT HARMONY
The living room gets a neutral color that brings calm to the entire home. Fluffy Cheetah no. 255 forms the base: a warm beige shade that perfectly matches Erlin’s wishes — soft and minimalist. At the same time, the color has enough strength. Fluffy Cheetah no. 255 effortlessly combines with statement pieces and bold accents, creating an interior with balance and character.

ORIENTAL MOOD
For the other wall in the living room, Oriental Ecru no. 434 is chosen. This color is versatile and balanced: warm, with a subtle exotic feel. Combined with Fluffy Cheetah no. 255, it creates a calm, natural harmony. The shared muted yellow undertone ensures that both colors enhance each other and together form a harmonious whole.

WARM STATEMENT
Thanks to the calm base, there is room for pronounced accents. Subtle statements are made with accessories that personalize the interior. For example, the residents' existing small tables are given a second life. They are combined into a multifunctional table for the children, finished in the warm accent color Warm Tan no. 91.
