Riemkje and Joppe live together with their dog Boyke in a detached house in Amersfoort Vathorst. After thirteen years of love, life, and opposite tastes, it’s time to bring their interior into harmony.
Riemkje dreams of a warm, hotel-chic feeling with rich fabrics and deep colors, while Joppe is drawn to classic antiques and the charm of items with a story. Two worlds under one roof!

The stylish mix
The home of Riemkje and Joppe undergoes a complete transformation. What was once cool and distant turns into a warm, almost fairy-tale-like place with a classic twist. Stylist Frans aptly calls it the stylish mix.
Wood and leather provide a rich foundation, combined with glass and bronze for a touch of refinement. Tiles and wallpaper bring color, depth, and texture to the whole, and a subtle accent of gold completes the look.
No wall remains untouched. The base color Amaze no. 535 forms the common thread throughout the interior, while wallpaper and wooden wall paneling add extra layers and character.
AMAZING AMAZE
Stylist Frans deliberately chooses calm as the foundation in this home. Amaze no. 535 is such a sand color that connects everything: understated, yet full of depth. An earth tone with character and endless possibilities.
The color forms the perfect canvas for rich accents: wallpaper with refined prints, tiles full of color, glassware that catches the light, and warm wooden details. This creates an interior that is balanced. Calm, but anything but boring.
WARM AND HOMELY
The kitchen in the house was still fine, but lacked coziness. Riemkje and Joppe themselves called it a real hospitality kitchen: functional, but cold.
Stylist Frans changes that with the same soft sand color Amaze no. 535 as a base. He combines this shade with hazelnut-colored fronts, ocher accents, and details of cognac leather. Together, they create a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately gives the kitchen a homely feel.
Color drenching
This home uses colour drenching. This technique involves immersing walls, ceilings, doors, frames, and baseboards in a single color. The result: calm, unity, and a harmonious whole.
Riemkje noticed that Joppe’s antique furniture looks harsh and cold against a white wall. By first covering the wall with wood and then placing a wooden piece of furniture in front of it, warmth is immediately added and the antiques gain a contemporary look.
