SEASON 23 EPISODE 4
Modern Farmhouse
Two years ago, Lisette and Tjabel, along with their daughters, moved to a detached house in the countryside. Tjabel converted the old farmhouse on their property into his own bike shop, featuring his signature industrial style of white, wood, and steel.
Now it’s the house’s turn. Lisette dreams of a bright and warm interior with a Scandinavian vibe, while Tjabel prefers a sleek and industrial look.
Curious how stylist Marlies combines their wishes and transforms this house into a modern farmhouse? Discover it here!

LINEN AND LIME
The house undergoes a complete transformation: from classic and rustic to light and warm. Stylist Marlies describes the new style as “linen and linden” – a reference to the soft linen tones in the interior and the use of linden wood, complemented by the fresh green of the linden leaves.
She works with a refined palette in which the calm LAB color Shade of Linen no 561 forms the base. This is combined with the soft, natural green of Zanzibar no. 852, which together create a serene appearance.

Shade of Chalk
The detached house exudes calm thanks to a light base in Shade of Linen no. 561. The wall behind the sofa is finished with LAB chalk, a lime paint that, with its powdery texture, soft shades, and matte sheen, adds warmth and character. By applying the paint in different ways, a unique and lively effect is created.

Naturally green
Muted green is a color that clearly appears in Lisette's moodboard. Through the green wallpaper in the dining area, the furniture with green accents, and the addition of Zanzibar no. 852 to the palette, a warm and calm whole is created.

From classic to modern
For the residents, an upgrade of the classic kitchen was urgently needed. They chose fronts with a dark wood veneer, and the traditional farmhouse tiles have been replaced by a modern version. The walls get a fresh look in the color Shade of Linen no. 561. In the center of the kitchen, a long-cherished wish of Tjabel and Lisette comes true: a cooking table, perfectly fitting the new palette thanks to the soft green shade Zanzibar no. 852.

Step into Style
It was an eyesore for the residents: the hallway. The staircase and the old-fashioned, unplastered walls created a messy appearance and did not give a good first impression of the home. That is now completely different. With a new staircase and a wall in travertine look, the entrance has gained a bright, warm, and calm appearance.
