Split-level home full of warmth

Diaan and Carlo live together with their dog Gijs in a charming split-level house in Schiedam. They enjoy the view of the water, the high ceilings, and the mezzanine. Yet something was off: the layout didn’t work well and their tastes clashed. Carlo loves color, warmth, and coziness with lots of accessories, while Diaan prefers sleek, industrial, and white. A challenge that stylist Fietje took on in this episode!

STURDY URBAN

Diaan and Carlo's white house has been transformed into a warm whole with a golden undertone. Strong urban, as stylist Fietje calls it. The base chosen is Cotton Cloud no. 233, a color that connects the upper and lower spaces.

Together with Oriental Ecru no. 434, Scented Cumin no. 34 and the accent color Medina no. 573, the whole becomes a warm and powerful palette.

FROM WHITE TO WARM

The base color Cotton Cloud no. 223 creates a calm atmosphere in both the kitchen and dining area. This warm white tint softens the space and blends effortlessly with other colors. Here, it gains extra warmth thanks to the soft fabrics and natural materials – exactly the finishing touch the home needed.

COLOR GAME

In the seating area, the versatile brown shade Oriental Ecru no. 434 shines with subtle gray and yellow undertones. The color play in the living space allows everything to blend together and gives a sense of cohesion. Along the stairs, wallpaper was chosen that playfully brings together all the shades from the palette.

EMPTY STATEMENT

Until now, the loft was a space that was rarely used by the residents. To bring new life to this area, it was decided to turn it into a TV room. The color Scented Cumin no. 34, which reaches just above the sofa, creates a spacious feeling and a warm, powerful statement.

IT'S A WRAP

By wrapping the kitchen in a warm shade that matches the base color Cotton Cloud no. 223 and the existing wooden countertop, a harmonious whole is created. A golden tile as a playful addition refers to Diaan’s moodboard, in which her guilty pleasure – glitter and glamour – subtly returns.
