Description
1838 Wallcoverings Palmette
Palmette | Blue Hue
This beautiful wallpaper with tropical flora and lush greenery has been beautifully adapted from an original carpet design in the V&A archives in South Kensington. The wonderfully thick ink coverage and beautiful hand-painted effect characteristic of surface printing make it the perfect medium for recreating the richness and artistry of the richly decorated original. Surface printing, a heritage technique introduced in 1838 and still practiced today at our factory in Lancashire, gives the wallpaper an extra layer of character and depth. Elegant and timeless, classic shades of blue are always a firm favorite in interiors, and this soothing, muted Blue Hue is right on trend. Available in 5 colors: Forest, Blue Hue, Clay brown, Sage and Natural. Archive inspiration: Palmette: design for a carpet, George W. Kingman (1846, 94), Kidderminster, Worcestershire, circa 1870. Created by textile designer George Kingman in Kidderminster, a historic center of British carpet manufacturing, this pattern embodies a rich tradition dating back to the 1730s. Kingman's work, characterized by rich colors, intricate patterns and an eclectic mix of inspiration from history, art and nature, continues to resonate in contemporary design and offers a dynamic celebration of maximalism.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Application
This depends on the dimensions of your wall and the type of wallpaper (for example, with or without pattern repeat). Use our wallpaper calculator or contact us for help calculating the right amount.
For most wallpaper projects, we recommend Arte Clear Pro wallpaper adhesive. This glue is high quality and suitable for various types of wallpaper. Always check the specifications of your wallpaper to see if this adhesive is suitable. Unsure? Contact us, and we will be happy to advise you.
For the best result, we recommend making the wall as smooth as possible before applying the wallpaper. If the texture is too rough, it may remain visible through the wallpaper.
To remove wallpaper, you can use a wallpaper steamer or wet the wallpaper with water and a splash of dish soap. Let it soak for a while, then carefully scrape the wallpaper off the wall. Non-woven wallpaper is often easier to remove when dry.
This depends on the type of wallpaper. Many types of wallpaper can be lightly wiped off with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Always check the product information for specific maintenance advice.
