1838 Wallcoverings Flower Meadow

Flower Meadow | Celeste Turquoise

This Arts and Crafts-style floral wallpaper captures the idyllic beauty of a wildflower meadow with bluebells, daisies and dandelion clocks. The traditionally printed design features an elegantly crafted texture, with lightly raised inks that give the flowers character and add subtle texture to the fine slub-effect background. It creates a charming atmosphere in any room and is a perfect fit for the original title, “Sweet Home”. Subtle, chalky inks in green, ochre, lilac and white make this Celeste Turquoise version particularly versatile. Available in 5 colours: the original Prussian Blue, Forest, Celeste, Spring and Cream. Flower Meadow archive inspiration: Dulce Domum wallpaper, Walter Crane (1845, 1915), woodblock print on paper, made by Jeffrey & Co., England, 1904. Walter Crane was a committed socialist who firmly believed in the transformative power of regularly bringing people from all socioeconomic groups into contact with art. The pattern’s Latin name, Dulce Domum, means “Sweet Home” and was created in 1904 by the renowned printers Jeffrey & Co. Thanks to the skilled printing at the 1838 factory in Lancashire, recreating Crane’s woodblock wallpaper was straightforward.
