Smoking Grass no. 23
Information
LAB WALLFIX
LAB wallfix is a semi-opaque primer that allows you to pre-treat powdery and absorbent surfaces, such as new plaster, both indoors and outdoors before starting with, for example, LAB wallpaint or LAB chalk. It greatly enhances the coverage of the subsequent paint layer. You order LAB wallfix in (an approximation of) the right color, so that by applying the primer you already color the surface and optimize the coverage of the next paint layer.
SPECIFICATIONS
✔ Semi-opaque primer for indoor and outdoor use
✔ Improves adhesion and coverage of the paint layer
✔ Suitable for powdery and absorbent surfaces
✔ Can be tinted for optimal color coverage
✔ Water-based and low odor
✔ Available in 1 liter, 2.5 liter, and 5 liter
✔ Sustainable choice
HOW MUCH LAB WALLFIX DO YOU NEED?
We recommend applying one to two coats. The yield and exact coverage depend on the absorbency of the surface, the application method, the applied layer thickness, the tools used, and the conditions. For highly absorbent or powdery surfaces, we advise applying two coats for an optimal result.
✔ 1 liter: approximately 6–12 m² per coat
✔ 2.5 liter: approximately 15–30 m² per coat
✔ 5 liter: approximately 30–60 m² per coat
APPLICATION METHOD
1. Pre-treatment (if necessary): Degrease the surface with LAB cleaner. Remove any loose paint residues, repair damages with a suitable wall filler, sand with an orange or yellow sanding sponge. For light sanding, use the blue or green variant.
2. Apply 1–2 coats of LAB wallfix, depending on the absorbency of the surface. Use a wallpaint roller (smooth) for large areas, a wallpaint brush for corners, or a spray device for an even result.
3. Use high-quality painting tools such as the supreme wallpaint rollers and brushes from LAB.
Tip! Choose the complete wallpaint (interior) application kit to make sure you have everything you need for your painting project.
SUITABLE SURFACES
LAB wallfix is suitable for stable, dry, and clean surfaces such as:
✔ New plaster (gypsum- or cement-based)
✔ Render
✔ Plasterboard and drywall
✔ Aerated concrete and Ytong blocks
✔ Concrete (lightly powdery or absorbent)
✔ Brick (porous bricks)
✔ Cement-based materials

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Application
This depends on the surface and the desired final result. For walls and ceilings, matte wall paint is often used, while woodwork and furniture are better treated with a lacquer paint. For personalized advice, you can always contact us.
A primer is not always necessary, but is recommended for:
- New or untreated surfaces (such as bare wood or plaster)
- Painting over dark colors with a light color
- Smooth or hard-to-adhere materials (such as tiles or metal)
Use a good bonding primer to improve the coverage and durability of your paint.

Many of our types of paint are wipeable or even completely washable. Choose a scrub-resistant or extra matte paint if you want a surface that is highly resistant to dirt and stains.
Yes, provided the surface is properly prepared. Clean the surface, lightly sand if necessary, and use a primer on smooth or dark surfaces.
