Little Greene Belton Scenic Oyster Wallpaper - National Trust Papers

Little Greene Belton Scenic wallpaper is a beautiful chinoiserie wallpaper from the Belton estate. The original, much-loved version of this wallpaper can still be admired in the Chinese bedroom of Belton House in Lincolnshire. Although the design – a scene of a garden party, depicted in a combination of printed and hand-painted elements – dates from 1785, we know that it was not hung until more than 50 years later, in 1840.

The original layout of this wallpaper, with human figures, exotic birds, an awkward scale, a quirky perspective and strange details, was simplified by Little Greene to create space for the images of bamboo and the charming interaction between birds, butterflies and flowers.

In total, a complete mural forms 6 (!) lanes. The price mentioned is for 3 strips, each 52 cm wide and 3.25 high.
The horizontal pattern, available in three color schemes, is divided over two standard rolls , so that the final frame is just over three meters wide. Price shown is per roll of 3 lanes.
