Available in 4 colours: Ocean Blue, Coral Reef, Mist and Midnight. Archival inspiration: Kilburn's Coral: design for printed cotton, William Kilburn (1745-1818), London, 1788-92. The V&A holds a unique album in its collection featuring 223 exquisite watercolour textile designs by William Kilburn. Born in Ireland, he moved to London and worked as a botanical illustrator before entering the textile industry and eventually running his own cotton printing works in Wallington, Surrey. Admired and emulated by his fellow designers, Kilburn created wonderful, pleasing patterns that never lacked quality or originality. All of Kilburn's designs use floral motifs, complemented by leaves, shells, ribbons or architectural elements, showcasing his great skill in pattern design by concealing the pattern repeat in both complex and simple designs.
