Rust paint for a rugged, weathered effect 

Rust paint is a type of paint specially developed to give walls a rusty and weathered appearance. It is often used in an industrial or vintage interior to create a lived-in, rugged look. With rust paint, it appears as if the walls have been exposed to the elements for years, without actually being rusty.  

LAB rubigo rust paint 

LAB rubigo is a true rust paint, intended for creating a weathered effect on walls. The LAB rubigo system consists of 3 different products, namely: 

1. LAB rubigo primer 

2. LAB rubigo activator 

3. LAB rubigo sealer 

LAB Rubigo Primer contains a lot of metal. The liquid in the activator causes the metal particles in the primer to rust and LAB Rubigo Sealer prevents the rust from transferring.  

Application of LAB rubrigo 

The LAB Rubigo system can be applied to stone, stone-like materials, cement, drywall, plaster, (fleece) wallpaper, painted walls, and wood-like (sheet) materials. Stir the rust paint well before use and ensure that the surface is dry, clean, grease-free, and stable. Powdery (like new plaster) and highly absorbent walls should be pre-treated with LAB wallfix covering in the correct color (recommendation LAB colour: Silent Cinnamon no. 25).
