Painting outside? Plan it well
Plan your garden painting well, because you definitely want to avoid rain and too warm temperatures. Do not paint below 10 or above 30 degrees. The ideal temperature is around 19 or 20 degrees. This is often between early April and late September. Why? At too low temperatures, drying takes too long, which can cause cracking. Too warm weather, on the other hand, causes the paint to dry too quickly, which can lead to ugly bubbles. If you are only painting your garden furniture, you can also do this under a canopy or simply indoors. Just keep in mind that the outdoor surface is dry or that your indoor space is well ventilated.
How do you calculate the required amount? Measure the length and width of the surface you are going to treat. Multiply these together and then divide by the coverage per kilo. Now you know how many liters you need for 1 coat. For example: for a surface of 5 m x 2 m (10 m² : 17 m² = 0.6 liters) you need 0.6 liters of LAB exterior paint for 1 coat (calculated with a coverage of 17 m² per liter).
A good pretreatment prevents most problems. The surface to be treated must always be strong, dry, and free of dust and grease. Read the product advice for more information on the correct pretreatment. Always apply LAB exterior paint in 2 coats for an optimal and durable result.
