WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WOOD STAIN AND EXTERIOR VARNISH?

Wood stain is ideal for surfaces such as fences, garden wood, furniture, and floors that need breathable protection. Stain has a moisture-regulating ability. Stained wood can continue to breathe and release moisture after treatment because the stain has penetrated the wood. Exterior wood varnish is more suitable for treated wood, such as window frames and exterior doors. Another difference: with wood varnish, you usually need a primer, while stain is applied directly to the wood.
